The ATC Junior Champion & Adult Champion TaeKwonDo

The champion program is a unique Olympic training program developed specifically for Juniors ( 8yr to 12yr) ,  Adults (16yr -29yr) & Seniors (30yr to 55yr). This specialty program is a team based program that develops the competitive edge. Over the years ATC has produced a large group of National and International champions up to and including 4 of our instructors who are former sparring champions and several of our instructors where former Olympic team members. With so many TaeKwonDo programs out there to choose from, ATC has distinguished itself by emphasizing top quality instruction from Nationally and Internationally recognized Masters and Instructors.

It is recommended that all students register with the AAU and USTKD.
All students entering Champions & Master Club sparring classes need full Sparring Gear.

ATC Basic Sparring (Open to all students)

ATC Junior & Adult Champions Program.

ATC Team Elite (Sparring Team 14yr and Older) - Master Club Members Only

ATC Sparring Class Levels

    1. Basic Sparring Classes. This type of sparring is offered in all classes.  One of the main functions of the class will be to introduce the basic concepts of sparring safely with children and adults. Students will learn basic footwork and kicking drills while being introduced to light contact sparring. Once students understand the basics of sparring in a safe manner, then they may be invited to join the Junior or Adult sparring program.

    2. Junior & Adult Champions. These classes are by invitation only. Students who have shown a strong training ethic in the basic sparring classes and have developed an understanding of the all concepts taught, may be invited to join the intermediate sparring classes. Here athletes start to take sparring more seriously. They are invited to join the ATC Team at local tournaments and become exposed to more advanced concepts such as ring control, advanced footwork, high section contact, etc. At this level, some intermediate students may be chosen to train with more serious competitors.

    3. Master Club / Team Elite Sparring Classes  These classes are reserved for individuals who are willing to dedicate themselves to an unrelenting pursuit of excellence in world-recognized Olympic TaeKwonDo and dedicate the time needed to become a superior competitor. This elite group puts in 5 - 6 hours of training and full contact sparring weekly. They learn advanced ring movements, advanced kicks, advanced combinations and timing drills.

Advanced level competitors must also take a TaeKwonDo International, AAU / USTKD and World TaeKwonDo Referee course  to better understand how TaeKwonDo Sparring is scored  from a referee's point of view. This also enables the athlete to better understand warnings, penalties and scoring. With hard work and dedication to the sport, he/ she can earn the opportunity to represent ATC, nationally or internationally in Olympic style sparring.

This is something important to consider when searching for a local TaeKwonDo school for your child, as only Kukkiwon and TaeKwonDo International registered Black Belts can compete at Olympic, international and national events.

Not everyone is cut out to be an Olympic style fighter, especially since it is expensive to be a competitor. That is why most students attend Non-Sport or Basic Sparring Classes and some may even compete at smaller, local tournaments.

These non-sport classes will balance your child with forms and self defense as well as improve confidence, self control, concentration, leadership skills and grades. Adults will also benefit from non-sport classes by improving health, flexibility, confidence, self control, peace of mind and stamina.

Black Belt Programs: are specifically designed for adults, child and families. ATC will tailored your training for your specific needs and martial art goals.  The Black Belt program while being serious are also exciting.  Training and Skills increases your belt rank and confidence, when your ready you may advance continue your traing in other martial arts offered by ATC.
